On tap at WBF 2025, pours black with a few bubbles of brown head. Aroma has toasted malt, gentle smoke, and a touch of vanillin. Flavour is chocolatey, with gentle smoke, cocoa, vanillin, and toasted malt. Rich malty, chocolatey base, with just enough smoke. Very good.

500ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with slightly late awakening, small to average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, beige head. Surprisingly weak, roasty, dark malty and slightly smoky aroma, hints of dark chocolate, wood ashes, a minimally peaty touch, resinous and piney hoppy overtones produce a liquorice effect. Taste is roasty, slightly chocolately, dark malty, mildly smoky malty, minimally caramel malty, subtle sweetness, hints of dark chocolate, wood ashes, some roasty and hoppy bitterness, resinous, hoppy overtones. Oily, viscous texture, smooth, soft and silky, minimally greasy palate, fine, dense, soft carbonation. Rather cautious flavours, quite a lack of intensity, nice mouthfeel - expected more.

50cl bottle from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours black, with no foam. Aroma is coffee, just a little smoky and nutty. Body is that thick, considering the level of alcohol, with average carbonation. Taste is roasty, with some nice complex final of sea salt.
