Bottle. 4.9 ABV. Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head. Dark amber colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy aroma. Light bitter flavor. Average ælight bitter finsh. Week roast and coffee. Oily palate.

Bottle. Nice creamy head with good duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are roast malt, chocolate, lactose sugar, coffee, hops and has a nice dry finish.

Bottled@PBF XI. Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is toffee, mild spices, wood and some liquorice. Flavour is fruity, some liquorice, mild peppery and some ashes to it.

Dark ruby color, good creamy beige head. Nice roasted sweetish, coffeish aroma. Light to medium-bodied. Coffee, chocolaty toasted malts in the flavor. Finish has evident peppery notes. I think that peppers bring also some not-so-wanted earthy notes to the beer. Could be also more robust than it is with only 5.1 %.

50cl bottle @PBF XI. Poured dark brown color with a thin off white head. Roasty, licorice, spicy notes in aroma. Chocolate. Cookies, brownies, great. Long, tasty finish, chocolate mostly. Solid brewery.

Bottle from Cotteridge wines. Deep Ruby to black colour with a big foamy head. Aroma has chocolate, fruit and a touch of spice. Taste roasted bitter with a spicy finish from the pepper, thick oily body that really coats the mouth. Nice porter.

Bottle 50 cl. Batch 04, 5.1% ABV. Pours a hazy, reddish brown with a beige head. Sweet roast aroma. Medium body, again subtle vanillaish roast. Quite some late malt bitterness and English licorice. I’m not sure I really get the impact of the peppercorn. 090616

Manchester Beer & Cider Festival 2016. Black with an off-white head. Soapy in its texture, the peppercorn provides a bubble-gum type sweetness before the spice becomes apparent, although this is light and infused with roasted malts giving it a certain Twist.

Keg at Brewdog Shepherd’s Bush, London. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Roasty, malty, coffee on the nose. Tastes the same, roasty, malty, coffee and a little chocolate.

Cask at the Bootlegger, High Wycombe, 14/03/16. Rich mahogany brown with a decent light tan covering. Nose is roast malt, light spice, cocoa butter, light charr. Taste comprises milk chocolate, roasted malt, peppery spice, toffee, trace of liquorice. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with a light peppery linger. Solid flavoursome porter.
