Cask at ushers. Pours clear dark brown with a short-lived bubbly beige head. Aromas of faint chocolate. Taste is light pepper, fruity, some more faint chocolate. Thin finish. Flat.

Bottle at home in London - sourced from an Oddbins, I think. Pours clear brown with a huge, billowing khaki head; another over-carbonated beer from W&T - joy! Plenty of ashy roast in the aroma, with undertones of tangy berries and dry cocoa. Light sweet flavor with notes of burnt meat, charred wood, dried and leathery fruits, light berry tang, dirt. Light bodied with lively, mouth-filling carbonation. Dry and ashy on the finish, with bittersweet baking cocoa, dried dark fruits, berries, leather, scorched earth. There are some nice aspects here, but the excessive carbonation definitely gets in the way.

Bottle from the Gonzo of Beer. It pours jet black with a massive tan head. The nose is rich earthy roast, freshly ground coffee, light spice, cocoa, berry and liquorice. The taste is bitter, dark roast, earth, coffee, liquorice, pepper, ash, burnt wood and some dark fruits with a dry, somewhat peppery finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Quite rich actually. A touch more sweetness would balance that out a bit, decent anyhow.

Hazy deep amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry. Mild dark malts, mild earthy coffee. Light dry finish. Mild cappucino linger. Not getting much of anything else other than a vague fruity tang. Not bad though.

Bottle at home... Deep black... Big tan head... Soft dry chocolate roast malts nose... Dark roast.. Light fizz... Tiny sour tinge... Light pepper... Touch of sour is destroying it as thats the main linger

Bottle from Corks of Cotham, Bristol. Near black with a thin, tan, head. Aroma of plain chocolate, coffee nibs and a touch of pepper. Flavour had plenty more chocolate, hints of caramel and black currant sweetness, before a warming finish. Excellent.
