Poured from a 22 oz bottle. Aroma is fairly malt forward with balanced chocolate and roast notes. Medium light bourbon and light oak notes. Hints of dark fruit including raisin, sherry and plum. Pours black with a medium sized, thick frothy, mocha head that recedes to a thin, creamy film before fading to the edges and disappearing. No lacing and moderate length legs. Flavor is moderately sweet with moderately strong chocolate notes with some lighter roast and hints of honey. Medium light bitterness and light oak. Medium light bourbon notes with hints of raisin, sherry and plum. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low, but present alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice beer but it doesn't quite live up to my expectations. I usually love the Grand Cru with a couple years on them but this one feels a bit off. Good, but not top of it's class good.

750 ml bottle, thanks for the share Adam! Aroma is molasses, chocolate, rye whiskey. Flavor is medium sweet, medium bitter, barrels are mild, I get rye and maybe a touch of oxidation. In reality, not bad at all. Decent even after more than 2 years.

2015, have held this one for a while. bomber with gold-wax. pours black with reddish edges. Smells like brandy, cocoa, vanilla and charred oak. a bit faded from fresh, oxidization kicking in. these always fail to age really well. light coconut light vanilla. this is mostly a roast bomb with lots of old coffee, bakers chocolate, whiskey.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Tom L’s place. Thanks Alon. Black with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, roast, bourbon, fudge, a bit of dark fruits, a bit of alcohol. Sweet flavor with chocolate, roast, vanilla, some coffee, some dark fruits, liqueur, caramel. Full-bodied, rounded. Really great.

At Sycamore. A lot more candy and sweetness throughout, little classical barrel to make out. Almost a Belgian Strong version of the Eclipse. Still some vanilla and honey in the background, even some flowers. Good.

Sample at Kurtkeller 025: Eclipse-tastic 01 on 12/23/2016. Brown-black color with a medium thick foamy beige head that diminishes gradually to a film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of oaky bourbon, roast malt, chocolate and spice. Full-bodied with flavors of bourbon, oaky vanilla, chocolate malt and spiced dark fruit. The finish is boozy chocolate and malt. Enjoyable beer all around.
