A modernized homage to Norse ales of the past. Brewed with rye, caramel rye, smoked barley and fermented with a unique yeast from Norway. Notes of toasted pumpernickel, dried fruits, and cherry wood smoke.

Tap. Pours clear copper, small beige head, good lacing. Aroma is campfire, hard wood smoke, hint of caramel. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, quite smokey. Merlin body. Pretty good.

16 oz can shared by jcos, 11/5/22. Amber pour, beige head. Rather sweet. Smoke. Wood. Slightly cloying. Probably too much sweetness for me to want more than half a can.

Smoke is big. Some sweet sugar water golden amber pour with decent head. Sweet and smoky end. Interesting but not super drinkable. Tap at Gilly's.
