It isn’t often that New Zealand rolls out a new hop, let alone one with such fanfare. The word on the street is that Nectaron is a top level rookie from the Southern Hemisphere hop world and from our sensory we are excited to see what this hop does in our beer. From rubbing and sniffing Nectaron we picked up notes of peach, grape cotton candy, zippy lime and terpy cedar. Team that up with Mosaic’s dank tropical and ganja like characteristics and methinks we have a winning combo!

Poured from as 16 oz can dated March 01, 2021. Aroma is hop forward with lots of guava, mango, papaya and orange notes. Hints of stone fruit and tropical citrus. Light dank notes. Hints of alcohol. Light cracker malt notes. Pours a slightly hazy, pale golden-orange with a medium large, thick, fluffy white head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers in clumps on the edges. Medium lacing and small legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with light cracker malt notes and a hint of caramel. Moderate bitterness and light alcohol notes. Lots of guava and papaya with lighter mango, orange and tropical citrus notes. Light dank notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a solid IPA. Lots of fruity hop notes with balanced malt sweetness, bitterness and alcohol. This is a fun new hop.
