A golden patersbier. This is more delicate than your average Abbey but has a complex palate of spices and fruits with an underlying sweetness. Golden hued with a medium-high carbonation.

Keg at Andrew Ushers, Edinburgh, Saturday 19th March 2016 in the company of Dad and Barry. Hazy mid gold with a sticky white head. A little bit of toffee and banana on the nose. A bit of bread, bit watery, there is a dab of sweet orange and it’s refreshing but still thinking a little thin, ok, fine. A6 A4 T5 P2 Ov12 2.9

On cask @ Ushers Bar. Appearance - cloudy or rather, murky amber. Decent head. Nose - lemon and toffee. Taste - more of the same and getting into oranges. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long, dry finish. Overall - underwhelming but at least balanced.

Keg at Andrew Usher’s. Hazy bronze body with a thin white head. Faint lacing. Aroma of yeast, light spices, pithy orange and lime. Flavour of biscuit and lemon. Very dry. Medium body with an oily texture. Light fizz. Simple and tasty.

Keg at Ushers. It pours hazy orange-amber with a small white head. The nose is soft, sweet, banana bread, clove, raisin, spice and a touch of candy. The taste is bitter, toasted grain, spice, orange rind, pithy grapefruit, cereal, banana bread and cracker with a pretty dry, spicy finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A bit too dry and spicy. So-so

Keg at Ushers. Pours murky gold with a thin white head. Aromas of yeast esters, honey. Taste is sweet, toffee. Apparently had banana in, but I’m struggling to find it. Spicy finish.
