backlog rating from 15/9/14. 500ml bottle at home. Pours a solid brown, light shines through but murky, tan head gone in an instant. Aroma of toasted brown bread, bittering hop resin. Taste is nicely balanced with enough of the toasted bread flavour to knock out the sweetness, lovely easy drinking beer.

2nd rate - Bottle @ EBBC14, Dublin [270614]
I’m liking the dark bit milky brown malts in this. Up to 3.4
Bottle from Drinkstore, Dublin [260614] 7/3/7/3/13
Caramel brown, frothy beige head that dissipates, slight haze, light lacing
Aroma of toasted malts, dab of plain chocolate, touch of coffee, brown bread crust, hint of earthy hedgerow fruits, quite a strong aroma initially
Taste of caramel, touch of dark bitter chocolate, toffee, some earthy bitter hops, toasted malts, roasted nuts, alcohol well hidden
Palate - soft carb, light to medium body, slight sweet. Finish as main flavour, fairly rapid
Overall - Decent enough fairly nutty brown ale...prefer the Agent Provocateur
