Cask handpull at Prince of Wales, Aberdeen. It pours clear rich golden with a bubbly white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, spicy, bready, sponge cake, perfumed, nougat, stewed apple and almond biscotti. The taste is bitter - sweet, oily, estery, big pear drops character, melon, candied apple, boozy heat, peppery spice, straw, grass with a sweet pear finish. Medium body, soft carbonation and oily mouth feel. A bit too sweet and oily. Pear drops and melon dominate a bit too much.
