Can/Fest. A- Cocoa, mild spice. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Christmas spice, cocoa. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, spiced finish. O- The brewery rep said you'll hardly taste the spice. I think he meant to say you won't taste anything but spice. A strong nutmeg christmas spice profile backed up by dry cocoa. Decent but very flavorful in terms of the spice going on.

On tap at Brickway, pours black with an amber tinge and a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of holiday spices, with medium roast, and toasted bready caramel. Flavour is very spicy and somewhat sweet, with nutmeg and cinnamon, with light cocoa and oats. Messy and not exactly well-integrated, but it works okay.

Dark brown coloured body with a quite hazy copper and bronze glow, all with a thin, tan head of about two centimetres. Aroma of spices - allspice, nutmeg, canella and coriander seed are all noticeable. Medium-bodied; Strong spicey flavour at first with the nutmeg and allspice way front and centre with a big dose of grain and malt and not much sugars or malt to support this. Aftertaste shows some ligher malt and spice flavours with earth, caramel, toffee and some chocolate around the edges as well without much support from the spices - sort of one dimensional and not a stout - if anything an American Strong. Overall, a decent, spice-based beer with some moderate balance and a lot of pungency without much complexity throughout, and definitely not a stout. Still, nice to try in this format on draught in a four ounce pour instead of anything bigger. Nice to try, but sadly, not recommended. I sampled this four ounce pour on draught as part of a flight of six from the brewpub on 16-March-2018 for US$10,50 sampled in the Old Market in Omaha, Nebraska.

Draft at the brewpub. Poured a pitch black color with a very small tan head. Aroma was roasted malts, rich, chocolate, roasted malts. Light bitter spices, some clove, nutmeg. Flavor was similar, roasted, bitter chocolate. Pleasant holiday spices, with a little bit of boozy finish.
