A clean and crisp, traditional dark German lager. The aroma has notes of light roast coffee and dark chocolate. The flavor is bread crust and roast, with a dry finish.

16oz can at the early November DC Ratebeer tasting. Poured a dark black color, translucent like you’d see in a soda. Off-white head. Aroma was sweet roasted malts, molasses, toffee, maybe a dash of coffee. Flavor was rich, creamy. Nice roast, but with a light body. Pretty good stuff.

From a pint can. Pours a clear cola with a tan head. Aromas are nutty and leathery. Flavors are moderately sweet caramel.

(Thanks, Andy! Nimbleprop) Can. A- Roasty, bready. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, beige head. T- Roasty, bready, vegamite, char. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, roasty finish. O- Okay. I wish there was more of a smoke factor or umami here but not bad.

16oz can pours a dark black, translucent, with some creamy, off white head. Nose has molasses, chocolate syrup, toffee, some bread. Flavors of rootbeer, cola, toffee, molasses, cocoa. Finishes dry. Lots of character.
