Bottle on 08/16/2009. Fairly clear golden yellow body with a large fizzy white head. Sweet spicy aroma with some honey and floral notes. Fairly spicy flavor with some light astringency and a floral background. Medium light body with fairly high carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a darkish gold with a finger of fizzy head and aromas of dough, grass, honey/pears and cloves. The last three (honey, pears and cloves) come through quite strongly in the flavor, but the whole thing comes off as a little thin.

Growler - pours a hazy gold with a soapy lace - aroma of dry, crackery malts, light honey, a touch of lemony tartness, mild belgian yeast phenols - fairly crisp and refreshing, with a lot of dry malts and moderate spice - a tiny bit of clove and other phenols - a touch of herbal bitterness and floral character on the end - finishes with a tiny bit of sweetness - a little boring, but decent.

Pours deep gold into a tulip. White head recedes at a medium pace leaving spiders to coat surface. Melon perfume aromas. Crisp with corriander upfront turning tropical fruit mango, citrus and banana.

Golden looking beer. Tastes like a very standard Belgian ale. Everything that a Belgian ale has, this one has to, but there is nothing at all to make this beer stand out from the competition. Standard amounts of banana, clove, and citrus.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Gilly’s, 6/8/09

Aroma: Light citrus nose, some light spice, yeast, clove, banana
Appearance: Mostly clear golden color, minimal head, no lacing on the glass
Flavor: Citrusy spice, some malty/Belgian yeast flavor, sweetness increases as it finishes
Palate: Light body, smooth and lasting palate
Overall Impression: Not a bad attempt at the style, a decent beer. Good summertime beer that someone who likes this style more then me would probably really enjoy. Some decent flavor complexities, certainly drinkable...I’ll bump the overall up a point or so because it is a pretty good effort.

**Just submitted a photo for this one, as it was missing one.

12 ounce bottle from a sampler. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a large head. Good head retention and fair lacing. Aroma seems like a pale lager with Belgian yeast... big corn notes, grain, some unripe banana and stone fruits. Taste is odd. Very fruity with notes of unripe banana, pineapple and apricot. Slight corn as well. Medium bodied. Very underwhelming.
