Clapton Craft have backed us since day one, so we were buzzing to get them down for a brew day and create a punchy west coast pale inspired by their iconic bear logo.

Grizzly has a backbone of Pilsner malt combined with a touch of Vienna for perceived sweetness to give this easy drinker a solid base for the hops to shine.

A lethal combo of Simcoe and Rakau provide fresh pineapple, apricot and zingy passion fruit whilst a small Chinook dry hop addition adds a touch of pine. An assertive but smooth bitterness, Grizzly is one to sink your claws into.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Clapton Craft OG location. Pours clear yellow with a foamy, white head. Light sweet flavour, pale and pithy, notes of lemon rind, biscuits, pine needles. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Pretty well balanced finish, more pithy lemon and grapefruit, subtle grass, straw, pale biscuits. Very drinkable stuff.

Whispy white head left a spotty cover on an unclear dull golden coloured body. Malt, orange & grist aroma. Medium bodied, minimal carbonation over the tongue with a lively clean back. Malt, grain, pithy, Wine Gums & bitter hop tastes with a peppery finish. Nice.

17th December 2023 Panda thanks to Cloin. Pretty much a clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and fairly dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Light malts, thin. A little lager like tang in the mid - huh? Maybe a Chinook edge aspect. Mild cooling pine and a reasonable hoppy citrus. Light dry finish. Tidy lager but really wants for a smoother malt base.

Can at home, from HOTM online, 10/11/23. Almost clear golden yellow with a white cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is orange zest, grass, pine needle, light stoned fruit whisper. Taste comprises orange zest, pine nip, melon, papaya, grass, citric tinged straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with grassy come light danko edged hop bitterness. Decent clean drinking pale, pulls off the WC vibe well.
