Cask @ Ty'n y Cornel, after cycling up (and down) Cadair Idris. Served in a plastic beaker. Pours a very dark ruby, creamy collar of foam atop. Sweet liquorice aroma, smooth creamy palate, gently smoky.. Good porter overall.

Cask at the Royal Oak, Saundersfoot. Black with a thick creamy beige head. Very smooth and rather thick and heavy- almost too much so, certainly at lunchtime when I had it. Chocolate is prominent, with a mild roasty malt and a touch of blackcurrant. The flavours are maybe a little weak for the strength and viscosity, and it feels like it needs something to cut through it a bit more. Still quite enjoyable though.
