Handpull cask at the Hoop and Grapes, Aldgate. Dark brown, only that little bit translucent with a creamy khaki head. Smells of chocolate cream, stone fruit, cooking herbs. Tastes mostly sweet with an odd almost vegetal sourness to it. Finish is cleaner with the chocolate notes becoming more prominent in the aftertaste. Not quite right.

Cask-conditioned at No.1 Harbourside, Bristol 4/12/2019. Near black in colour, with a frothy, beige, head. Milk chocolate, a touch of prune and caramel, with some toasty malts, leading to a gentle finish. A bit thin-bodied, but fine.

29/11/2019. Cask at the Gladstone Arms, Stowmarket. Pours black with a small beige head. Aroma of milk chocolate, sweet malt, light roasting, touch of molasses, nut and toffee. Medium plus sweetness and light roasted bitterness. Moderate body, oily texture, very soft carbonation.
