13/10/2019. Cask at The Dove Street Inn, Ipswich. Pours clear bright gold with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of hops, citrus, malt, straw, caramel and flowers. Medium sweetness and light to moderate bitterness. Light body, watery texture, soft carbonation. Not unpleasant but lacked any depth.

Cask at the Bricklayers Arms, Bishop’s Stortford. Dark gold with a bit of whitish head on the top. Lemony metallic smell. Tastes weakly sweet/sour, hints of rancid butter and forest floor. Finish is okay, maybe I’m just glad it’s over. Not a great beer by Mauldon’s standards (or anyone’s).

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Cask. Lightly hazy golden beer, untidy bubbly white head. Palate is light and dry, decent fine carbonation. Pale malts are semi sweet and a little bready and grainy. Mild floral bitterness. Trace of dried fruits. Dry finish. Lame.
