28/2/2020. Cask at the Leicester Beer Festival 2020. Pours clear mid amber/brown with a small bubbly beige head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, fruit, roasted malt and hops. Moderate bitterness, light bitterness. Slight watery texture. Touch of spice to finish.

Gravity cask at the 2020 Leicester Beer Festival. Reddish brown and very translucent. Smells of foraged berries, light liquor ice notes, a subtle hint of smoke. Bittersweet taste with a finish which conjures red grape, aniseed and hyssop. Light body and low carbonation. A decent winter warmer but lacking the balance of the best beers in the style.
