Bottle 330ml. @ [ (PBF XI) by oh6gdx - Petalax ]. [ As Perlenbacher Maltos Barrique Style ].[ Trade by Beerhunter111 ]. Unclear medium to light dark amber color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white to light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, sweet malt, light bread, light dark malt, light wood. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration, sweet malt, laber larver, bread, caramel, sweet bread, vanilla notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. 0.33 l bottle from local ’LIDL’ as ’Perlenbacher Maltos Barrique Style’, best before March 2017. Clear, very dark red with a thin, slightly fluffy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, a little fruity aroma of caramel, molasses, raisins, plums and a touch of oak. Sweetish-malty, moderately fruity taste of caramel, molasses, raisins, plums and slight hints of oak, followed by a rather long, slightly bitter, medium warming-alcoholic and a little vinous finish. Medium body, slightly oily and a little effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite nice, but not that deep, a bit too alcoholic and slightly unround as well.

Bottled@PBF XI (as Maltos Barrique Style). Copper colour, small off-white head. Aroma is toffee, spices, butter and some mild metallic notes. Flavour is toffee, alcohol, some sharp tart fruitiness to it. Big wooden finish.

33cl bottle @PBF XI. The beer pours cola brown, small bubbles, thin off white head. Bready, caramelly aroma. Dough, molasses, dark bread, some medicine notes. Warming.

Bottle 0.33l at home, Nivala (as Maltos Barrique Style). BBE 13.10.2016. Colour is brown with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Bread, grain, some nuts?, some chocolate and malts. Bready doppelbock.

Bottle(kindly donated by Quack-Duck!): Amber, hazy, no head to speak of; mild traces of wanilla and wood in the sweetish fruity-caramelly nose; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, just medium bodied, not very soft; short, but moderate bitter-sweet finish with fruity, woody and caramelly flavours. Not great, still O.K. …

(bottle, 33cl, as Maltos Barrique Style) Slightly hazy, brown colour with a beige and medium-sized foamy head. Oaky bourbon/vanilla aroma with dried fruity, cassis notes, hints of cocos, chocolate and a whiff of booze. Moderately sweet flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Dark malt character with oaky/chipped vanilla notes, dried fruits, cassis and chocolate; moderately sweet and delicately bitter finish with hints of chocolate, caramel and even piney hoppy notes after every burp. 0,33 l bottle under the Lidl flag. A lot of barrel wood at the start. Berrie fruity, alcoholic, a little bit malt in the background. Salty elements. Also some hints of vinegar. Mid roasted malty. Okayyyy. Edit: I forgot to say, bottle from Kristall-König. Thanks a lot!

33cl bottle as Maltos Barrique Style. Pours slightly hazy dark orange brown colour with a mid-sized most good lasting beige head. Aroma of dark malt, vanilla, oak chips, sweet malt. Taste of sweet dark malt, vanilla, oak, wood, not bad!
