Poppyland Bottles At Home #2 of 3. Bought at the brewery in 2024. Traditional styled ale with the first sip feeling like a mild, appearing a clear dank amber colour. The distinctive English hops do develop as you progress providing hints of chocolate malt and caramel, but a crisp bushy-floral bitterness dominates, which doesn't reach appealing levels, although the heritage of the brewing here can be appreciated. Towards 'dark ale' by modern standards despite the name.

28/10/2021. Cask at the 2021 Norwich Beer Festival. Pours clear very dark brown with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma of light roasted malt, milk chocolate, dark fruits and berries. Moderate sweetness, light roasted bitterness. Moderate body, slight watery texture, average carbonation. Pretty decent.
