Efter at øllet er gæret og modnet, sødes øllet med en smule karamelsukker for at fremhæve fylden og "julestemningen" i øllet.
I øllet bruges der desuden en speciel udviklet ekstrakt af skovfyr, som er med til at give Skovlyst JuleBryg sin helt egen forfriskende karakter.

by skovlyst production, boy this looks a lot like the other one. BBF 30-4-2021 clear amber, small white head. aroma is mild, notes of apple pie, also caramel and sweet malt candy. flavor.. oh! cinnamon.. lots of it.. that's what i asociated with apple pie. balanced? not at all. cinnamon is way too dominant, so much the beer even have what i find pretty rare, cinnamon bitterness. wtf.. these levels of spices might work well in a pastry imperial stout on a good day, but with this delicate pale ale thing, it destroys it. no balance. scale broken, no way to repair... anyway, if you feel like apple pie, but don't like apple, and are all out of apple pie anyways, this might do as a last resort kind of thing.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear nutty brown with an off-white head. Nose has a sweet, vanilla-like edge to it. Medium body, there’s probably a fairly bland Amber somewhere underneath, but the whole thing is destroyed by this cloying and artificial Hazelnut aroma. Kinda horrible. 280217

Bottle. Creamy White good mostly lasting head. Amber colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy aroma. Light bitter very caramellic flavor. Short light bitter finish. Watery palate.

Bottle shared with JMD on board Fridtjofen 08.12.16. Clear dark orange. Quickly diminishing off-white head. Aroma of meadows, syrup, honey and ginger. Similar taste. Medium low bitterness.

Falske delt med skibsrederen ombord på Fridtjofen, kvelden før Holmens juleøltest: klar, vakker rødlig mahogny med kort skum. Behagelig aroma og smak med furunål, kanel og malt. Mild bitterhet i avslutningen. Lettdrikkelig uten å skape den store julestemningen.
