A winter ale which packs a Figgy pudding punch.
It owes its rich copper colour to a sprinkling of chocolate malt and a chorus of English hops impart a festive spicy bitterness to balance warming malty flavours. Rejoice and be glad.

A light haze on this deep amber beer, small pale tan head. Smooth and semi dry palate, decent fine carbonation. Soft airy malts, a thin creamy sweetness, mild caramel. English hop orchard fruits, notably plum, coming through on the back end along with cooling pine. Light semi dry finish. A flavoursome affair and drinks easy. Bishop Nick has improved beyond all recognition. They used to be my last stop at the Chelmsford beer fest, only stop here when I'd done everything else. I think they would be one of my first stops now.

27/1/2023. Cask at the 14th Colchester Winter Ale Festival. Pours clear bright amber bronze with a small frothy off-white head. Good looking beer. Aroma of malt, toffee, nuts, fruit, slight soapy edge. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, slightly creamy, soft carbonation.
