Destroyer! This hell of a barley wine is not your regular heartwarming beer. This one is brewed with Fermentis' DA16 which blends yeast with an enzyme which allows to destroy all the complex sugars of the wort! Big attenuation without the POF+ flavours. We combined this with a complex maltbill from our local maltery The Swaen. So stay strong soldiers! Last man standing! Don’t get destroyed.

Kolor kasztanowo czerwony, klarowny. Piana wysoka, barwy żółto brązowej, bardzo szybko znika z powierzchni płynu.
Aromat jest wyraźny, mocny, są tu nuty słodowe słodkie, karmelowe, kandyzowane, podpalane lub nawet przypalone. W tle nieco delikatniej, suszone ciemne owoce, śliwka w syropie lub w likierze. Podoba mi się.
Smak mocno słodki, syropowy, na ustach pozostaje słodki lepki film, skontrowany mocniejszą, "ziołową" goryczką. Na finiszu nuty chmielowe.
Alkohol nienachalny, odrobinę "drapie" przełyk. Wysycenie niskie. Ciało pełne w dół. Tekstura gładka, miękka, niemal oleista. Posmak średnio długi, słodki z towarzyszącą ziołową goryczką.

Keg at If It Ain't Dutch, Enid Street, 18/12/24. Deep chestnut brown with little in the way of a head. Nose is dried fruit rinds, nutty, caramel, stewed fruits, booze tunes. Taste comprises fruit cake, figs, butterscotch (in a good way!), boozey dance, prunes, caramel, toasted brown sugar. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Decent sipper ... comes over a little too mellow at times but reaches a punchy climax by the curtain call.

Keg at If It Ain't Dutch. Near clear deep amber beer, small and short lived pale tan head. Fairly light palate all told, moderately dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Reasonably rich malts, modest creamy sweetness but good toffee - not that sweet. Dried fruits on the back end along with alcohol spice and esters. Nice, slightly lowlandish in style but all good.
