Our foudre beers provide biotransformational experiences to formerly familiar hop character. This 24g/L dry-hopped Foudre Ale is bursting with strawberry, notes of lychee, white chocolate, orange wine tannins, before a familiar bitterness takes hold.

This year's releases have been conceived to provide moments of shared celebration, decadent contemplation and pleasant surprise. Developed with a variety of specially selected barrels, hops, fine organic fruits, and carefully sourced ingredients to deliver beers that range from luscious spirit-aged stouts to deeply complex blends with spontaneously fermented bases.

Made with time and love at Cloudwater.

Bottle from Cikoko: pours orange with a white head. Aroma is heavily fruity, lightly herbal, heftily funky. Taste is lightly sour, hop character comes out nicely. I really enjoyed this.

Appearance is murky amber, not really any head. Aroma is funky fruit, barnyard, apple and grape, berry fruit, vinous tannins. Taste is apple, grape, cider, hedgerow fruit, tart sourness, white wine, raspberry and hint of blackberry, dry finish.

10th February 2025
Panda thanks to Cloin. Near clear burnished gold beer, short and short lived pale cream colour head. Light palate, mildly dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Light malts, some sweetness perhaps, hard to tell in a beer like this. A refreshing tartness, a little acetic. Cooling pine. Hard to discern any hop character against the sourness, just a generic fruity thing to me. Light finish. A nice palate livener but a panda was enough.

Bottle at home, from Cloudwater online, 27/12/24. Moderately hazed orange to amber topped with an off white cap that soon thins to spotting. Nose is big pissy hedgerow, funk, acidic nostril tickle, dusty hops, lemon rind, guava, lychee, white grape, damp cloth, strawberry sours. Taste comprises tangy green berries, barnyard bite, funk, acidic tingle, citric tinged straw, hedgerow, leaf mulch, lemon rind, soured citric sherbets. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a tarte puckering edge tempered with a well balanced dusty come earthy hop presence. Another solid entry to the CW hopped Foudre series.
