Gracefully rested for 21 months in burgundy barrels, enabling a delicate essence of blackberry and oak to gradually infuse into the barely wine. Initial notes of Morello Cherry, delectable toffee and biscuit lead way to a bouquet of berries, golden honey, almond, sweet bready malt and a touch of fragrant rosewater

Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 19/12/24. Amber to chestnut brown topped with a lasting light beige cap. Nose is fruit cake mix, floral notes, caramel, herb, dark malts, dried red berries. Taste comprises fruit slice, raisins, prunes, mellow red wine barrel, vinous, trace of alcohol, toffee. Medium plus bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced kiss of alcohol. Easy drinker for 11.2% and doused with a subtle barrel element. Tidy.

A mild to medium haze on this light amber beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Airy palate, mildly dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Airy malts, bordering on thin, some mellow cream and caramel. This barleywine serves the barrel which delivers a pleasant red wine berry richness that is also fairly bright, mildly tannic and very slightly tart. A little dark berries underneath. A nice oak induced vanilla softens everything off before a light and crisp finish. Okay wet wood and slightly port wine linger. Yeah, works for me and works well.

Bottle at home. Pours deep amber, nose is cheesy, vanilla, caramel, fruit, taste is similar, berries, funk, something not quite working for me --- Beer merged from original tick of Barley Wine 2023 Edition - Burgundy Barrel Aged on 05 Oct 2023 at 08:26 - Score: 7
