29/11/2025. Can at the ITFC beer share. From Norwich Arts Centre fundraiser following World Beer Awards. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, malt, vanilla, ashy edge. Medium sweet, moderate roasted bitterness. Quite watery. Oily. Average carbonation. Lacks body but it’s quite likeable.

Deep dark brown, near black, with a creamy tan head and a fruity roasted malt aroma. Nice and creamy with dark fruit and roasted malt, coffee with a touch of chocolate and a dry bitter finish

Keg at the Hawkstone taproom between Stow on The Wold and Bourton, 23/11/24. Lighter shade of black with a big old tan head. Nose is mellow roast, charr, cocoa sprinkle, toffee. Taste comprises dried fruit rinds, roasted bite, dark malts, charr, ashen bite, raisins. Medium bodied, fine massaging carbonation, drying close. Decent enough stout.

Keg at The Jam Factory, Oxford, Thursday 28th May 2015 Pours dark brown with a large creamy off white head, really creamy. A fairly standard run of the mill keg stout offering a little more sweetness than some, with a slight roasty and metallic edge. Perhaps my review was a bit negative, it’s fine but the Westmalle Dubbel on tap would have been a better option methinks. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1

[Keg at the Royal Standard of England, nr Beaconsfield] Labelled as "Cotswold Stout", but same ABV so assume it’s the same beer. Black with a large light brown head. Smooth, creamy coffee flavour up front, a bit like Murphy’s Irish Stout. A moderate roastiness develops, with a little sourness and an unfortunate slight metallic tang. But overall I quite liked this one.
