Cask @ GBBF Winter, Birmingham. Almost black with a small beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, roasted malt and light hoppy - pine. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 080220

8/2/2020. From cask at the Great British Winter Beer Festival, Birmingham. Pours very dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of coffee, toffee, roasted malt and dark fruit. Moderate sweetness and medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Slightly medicinal finish, though not in a bad way. Enjoyable.

Cask @ GBBF, Birmingham. Small head with short duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are caramel, roast malt, chocolate, hops and has a nice long bitter finish.

[ As Wessex Beast of Zeals ].Clear dark brown color with a small, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, dark malt, sweet malt. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter bitter with a long duration, sugary, dark malt, chocolate, roasted, sweet malt, woody notes. Cask at the 2015 National Winter Ales Festival, The Roundhouse, Derby. Dark brown pour, no head. Raisin and chocolate aroma. Smooth roasty flavours of chocolate, bonfire toffee and smoke. Booze laden mouthfeel. Good.

On gravity at the Barley Mow, Dings, Bristol 18/09/10. 6.66% ABV per pump clip, but I have rounded up. Chestnut coloured with a slight, off-white head. Sweetish, caramel and red fruit aroma. Flavour was similar, with some roasted malted contrast, orange fruit and a moderately bitter finish. Good.
