The Substance experimentation continues… Grapefruit always seemed like a natural fit to pair with our flagship IPA, and after pouring some test kegs in our taproom, it was ready for the full treatment.

Canned 2/10/26, drunk 4/9/26.
A bit of butter, a bit of oxidation and a fair bit of caramel in the nose, alongside a much darker than expected color make me think this one may be prematurely oxidized.
Oh yeah, that's no bueno. Buttery and papery with flat, old flavors and no expressive, well, anything. Not going to give a miserably low rating; I know this isn't a bad beer, just oxidation, which happens. I don't believe I've ever had an oxidized Bissell beer before, either, so I'm not too worried. Will score it once I get a better can.

Pours a hazy, peach-grapefruit color, with smallish head. Aroma is strong citrus--grapefruit, obviously--with some tropical fruit. Flavors follow. Mouthfeel a touch thin. Mild hop bitterness in the finish--overshadowed by the grapefruit flavors.
