Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish and relatively fast-dying tan head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, light molasses and burnt sugars with a good hit of grainy malts along with a nutty finish - nice in the nose and pretty complex with a good dose of sugars here. Medium-bodied; Assertive grainy and roasty malts show at first with a great hit of both caramelised sugars and squash/sweet potato notes with a lot of richness, but also some flavours from them along with some light spice notes towards the end that brings out complexity from the malt and sugars. Aftertaste is pretty grainy with a good roasty and sweet finish along with a hint of alcohol and light bitterness on the end, along with the coffee that comes out early in the nose, but also late in the taste, with some vanilla to finish it off. Overall, a very nice and robust, well-rounded and pretty complex beer for the alcohol content and style here with a good robust profile showing things from sweet potato and squash to vanilla. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Harris Teeter in Charleston, South Carolina on 28-December-2021 for US$1,87 sampled almost a year later at my house here in Washington as the days get a bit chillier on 28-November-2022.

Dry and somewhat chalky, with unsweetened chocolate and minor cola notes mixed with clingy, overly pronounced pie spices and a medicinal finish. Not great.
