Pint can from Wine Warehouse, 4.27.21. Black, large mottled head, tan with white splotches. Aroma of roast, molasses, anise, berry. Taste is roast, molasses, berry, vanilla, lactose. Full bodied. Gimmicky but pretty good.

Unexpectedly restrained for the style, opting for traditional stout character over hideous, over-sweetened pastry excess. No, Hi-Wire has created a far more nuanced blueberry beer, with the chocolate, anise, char, and espresso imperial stout notes taking center stage, allowing the adjuncts to percolate underneath, offering hints of berry and spice but never assaulting the palate with saccharine artifice. The blueberry mostly comes through on the nose; otherwise, it's a straightforward stout with a mild dessert flourish on the finish. Nice.
