I like how Stone has returned to their roots with their recent special releases. Instead of pushing the hazy/juicy envelope as so many breweries do these days, Stone is amping up the old-school West Coast bitter bombs of yore, unleashing palate-scouring levels of good ol' vitriolic hop bitterness. Yeah, there's plenty of tropical and citrus notes to be found here, plus a lovely caramel-orange marmalade sweet streak underneath, but the bitter bite defines this pint, and bless it for doing so. Killer brew.
