6.5
Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 6

Thankfully not over-hopped, but still a bit sloppy, with nice melon and grapefruit notes undone by wort notes, an underlying yeasty sourness, and a vegetal stream on the finish. Lovely soft texture makes for easy drinking, but the beer never quite comes together.

7.2
Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7

Super hazy deep copper and bronze coloured body with a thinnish and fast-dying tan head, all about seventy five per cent opaque. Aroma of citrus, mango, lemons, grapefruit and even a hint of passionfruit - all very nice, with a dash of grass and malt. Medium-bodied; Strong, dank hop flavours show at first with a large hit of flowers, grass and some citrus fruits, but the sweetness and maltiness is probably the most pervasive, along with some astringency as well. Aftertaste is crisp - deep, citrusey, floral, grassy, but also some good malt notes, a light medicinal note, some sweetness and a smooth dry flavour that is balanced, but subdued. Overall, a nice and pungent beer that hits the right marks, while is relatively easy-drinking. Good to sample and a nice option, in a sea of IPAs, this is a good example right down the middle for the style - nothing fancy, just good. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from the Department of Beer and Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 10-July-2020 for US$4,49 sampled at my house here in Washington on 22-July-2020.
