Surprisingly restrained for a pastry stout, offering up strong notes of chocolate and vanilla underlined by hints of dark fruit and roast. Caramel, dough, and hints of licorice underline the cookie notes, yet the beer thankfully never goes into lactose overdrive, instead remaining moderately sweet and nuanced as it leads to a cookie-tinged fade. Very easy to drink for a 9.3% beer. Nice.
