Augur is our classic English Porter with a touch of East Coast nuance.   Brewed with the finest Maris Otter, a variety of roasted barley and wheat malts as well a varied spectrum of crystal malts.  A dry, crisp and satisfying mouthful of proper ale with a dash of toasty biscuit and cacao.  Hopped with Willamette, Bramling Cross, and East Kent Goldings for woodsy, fresh presence.

Mild tree bark and moss nose. Black, medium tan head, fair amount of lacing. Dry, wood and walnut, hints of treacle but still quite dry. Light body, soft carbonation. Quite sessionable. I'm not a huge fan of this brewery, but I love what they did with this.

English pint murky black, translucent with some sticky, beige head. Nose is malt and oats and some brown bread and earthy notes. Flavor is chewy with malt, lovely brown bread note. Oats add so much body too. Just off dry. Creamy.

16 oz. can from HEB, Boerne, TX. Pours a clear, very dark brown color with a large beige head and very good retention. Light lacing. Dark roasted malt aroma. Similar dark roasted malts with dark chocolate and nuts flavor. The body is a little light for a porter, and higher carbonation than a typical porter too. Low bitterness. No coffee notes. Very tasty and easily repeatable. Brewed by Urban Chestnut Brewing in Missouri.
