Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours hazy copper gold with a beige head. Aroma is fairly hoppy - but the combo makes me think of cooked stone fruits. With a spice hint. Med body or better. It’s rather malty. Hop is light stone fruits, some biting spice, and arguably floral. Given the name it better be floral. Somehow I don’t think the hop combo coalesced well. The malt seems to be somewhat ignorable with time, and it thus seems to get bitter. Different sort of brew.

The Travlr tasting at ChrisO’s. Thanks to Gene for all the beers and Chris for hosting. Thanks to Leighton for another Pretty DIPA. Hazy amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light , semi dry and has modest fine carbonation. Malts bring a light tangy caramel. Good citric peel bitterness with mild pine. Bitterness ramps up in to a light finish. Quite a tangy bitter DIPA.

Bottle split at Travlr tasting @ Chriso, thanks to Leighton, 30/09/15. Very lightly hazed golden amber topped with a decent off white swirl. Nose is mandarin, light spice, caramel, citric tinged straw, orange blossom. Taste comprises grapefruit, caramel malt, light pine, bitter orange. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok but far from a great for this style.

Bottle shared at Chriso’s Travlr last minute tasting. Huge thanks to Leighton for this one. Mostly clear orange light amber coloured pour with a lasting off white head. Aroma is light caramel, big pine bitterness, little orange. Flavour is big resinous rounded orange and pine, light caramel, tangy orange. Palate is medium full, sticky resin, rounded, medium. Really solid.

Bottle shared in London at chriso’s to honour the handsome and generous Gene. Pours clear ruby with a creamy, off-white head. Toasty crackery malts in the nose, graham crackers, orange rind, pine needles. Medium sweet flavor with more toasty, bready mats, crackers, oily pine, orange. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish, more oily pine, toasty bread, rindy orange. A little bit heavy handed, but OK.

Pours deep amber into a snifter. White head with medium retention recedes to mottle surface. Caramel, tropical fruit, citrus and resin aromas.Thick with mango and pineapple upfront turning to hot caramel before the lasting bittersweet tangerine and earth finish. A little thick and sweet for my taste, but as always with Pretty Things it is well made.
