Take Two Pils is a step into an alternate reality for SweetWater, a head-first dive down the rabbit hole into the Wonderland world of lagers. The adventurous golden blonde German style pilsner is brewed with a mad hatter’s dose of spicy floral hops. It’s beautifully Bohemian in body, earthy in soul and it’s moving low. Go ask Alice, I think she’ll know. Call us in the morning!

Nice little pils. Pleasingly hoppy nose. Not overly complex but a nice spiciness, not sure if its hallertauer but its not far off. Flavor is a bit off the mark, sweetish, mild cereal presence, hop flavors muted pepper, bitterness very mild. Needs a kiss at thefinish. But I’m going by style here, its a pleasing enough modestly hopped lager. Medium bodied. Light fizzy carbonic bite.

12 oz brown bottle into a Stella glass. A: Hazy bright yellow with small tight head. Little retention but nice amount of lacing as drunk. Busy carbonation. S: Sharp piny hops and a subdued crisp flat malt scent. T: Sharp as in the smell but not as piny, slightly more floral. Malts are also more pronounced at the middle and end, though still taking a back seat to the forward hops.. Pretty good balance of flavors but could maybe use another malt note. M: Medium light body with good amount of carbonation. Crisp and refreshing despite some nice stickiness. Very good. O: Sweetwater has a good pils here. Not the best but better than most new ones I’ve tried lately. I would buy this again.

No aroma. Hazy amber, medium head. Strong punch of noble hops instantly, malt at midpalate, dandelion finish. Medium body. Good transitions, nice intensity for the style.

Sample at Daily Growler UA during the "SweetWater Brewing Welcome to Ohio Tap Invasion" on 10/09/14. Clear pale golden color with a thin white head that evaporates steadily. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of herbal hops and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of grassy hops, biscuit malt and a bit of fruit. The finish is mildly bitter with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

And call me in the morning? 12 ounce bottle, 7/11/14. Pours a clear golden color with a thin fizzy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of grassy hops, almost tinny, a bit of earth and citrus, pale malt. The taste is grassy, green, earthy hops and pale malt, a little biscuity. Medium bodied, slight lingering bitterness.

Pours clear gold with a tall white head. Aroma is spicy, bread and grass. The flavor is crisp with a bitterness at first that fades quickly into a long smooth finish.
