Poured from a 375 ml bottle. Aroma is malt forward with lots of toasted bread, nuts, biscuit, caramel and light toffee. Some cherry and raisin notes as well. Light oak and vanilla notes. Pours a murky, muddy, auburn brown with a medium large, thick, pillowy, dark tan head that recedes steadily to a small film that lingers. Light lacing and moderately long legs. Flavor is fairly sweet with quite a bit of malt character. Lots of caramel, toasted bread, nuts and biscuit. Some cherry, raisin and stone fruit notes. Fairly strong bitterness and light alcohol notes. Moderate oak and tannins notes with light vanilla. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low, but present alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright barleywine. It has an odd fruity notes that doesn't quite work with the tannins. May get better with age, but it's not great fresh.
