Our ‘Provision’ Saison changes to reflect the seasons in the inspirational countryside. This year the hedgerows were laden and we have blended in a large portion of rosehips to give a subtle and enticing colour to the beer.

Replaced by Saison Automne.

Taste is slightly dry sour-ish floral, weeds, flowers, bark, harsh yeast, hay, old moss, minerals, old leafs, heather, grass. Medium bitterness, slightly dry and harsh mineraly mouthfeel. Not my cup of tea.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Milky golden body with a whipped white head. Lively carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of carrots, straw and has orange pith. Flavour of white pepper, yeast and oat cakes. Medium body with a powdery texture. Light fizz. Rustic and unusual. This grew on me.

Keg at the Pint Shop, Cambridge. Dark gold and quite hazy. Bit white foamy head but it dissipates fairly quickly. Green apple, a bit of clove in the aroma. Clove sticks out a bit for me. Taste is more rounded, a yeasty sweetness combines with a sharp fruity tartness. Biscuit, blueberry and nutmeg in the finish. Too cold and too carbonated, but the body holds up well. Good saison.

Keg @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours hazy blonde with full white head. Aroma is light yeast, unfortunately no rosehips as promised. Taste is light, refreshing, breezy with fleeting spice although touching towards over-carbonation. Overall, good but not one the best of Burning Sky’s saisons.
