Cask (gravity) @ 31th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2014, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England. [ As Trumans Original Porter ].Clear dark red brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, earthy. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, sweet malt, roasted, bread, licorice malt - hops. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20141205]

Cask at the Shakespeare’s head holburn, jdw. Dark reddy brown coloured pour with a lasting thick creamy head. Aroma is woody, dark malts, some dried fruits, hint of booze,. Flavour is composed of burnt toast, vanilla, powdered choc, earthy bark. Palate is medium bodied,moderate carbonation, slightly creamy on the tongue. Little paint stripper / hot alcohol in the finish. Decent rustic Porter.

Draft at Pigs Ear Beer Festival 2013 - London. Pours clear, light brown with a mild cream topping. Very basic stuff, somewhat bland. There’s a bit of sweet brown bread here and faint, leafy bitterness. Light in body with soft carbonation. Mildly sweet to finish with earth and leaves and mellow, dusty cocoa. Meh, pretty uninspiring stuff.

Cask-conditioned and on gravity at the Beer Emporium, Bristol 7/12/2013. Copper coloured with a decent, off-white head. Fruity porter, with some decent malts and gentle finish. Good.

Pigs Ear. Clear deep amber beer. Light palate, smooth and slightly soft and dry. Light dry malts with mild and unsweet toffee. LIttle dried fruits. A mellow sweetness runs throughout. Light semi dry finish. Not bad but I am getting confused with all these amber porters today!
