Cask gravity at the Portland arms, St Albans, a dark mahogany brown coloured pour with a a loose dark tan head. Aroma is rustic farmhouse, char. Wood, campfire, vanilla. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, rounded, burnt cake, rustic roast, liquorice, dried fruits, burnt milk. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, decent cask condition.

Cask at the Railway, Streatham, London 28/11/2024 Somehow missed this over the years, getting dark sweet and roasted malty, notes of chocolate, toffee and caramel malty sweetness, nice soft cask carb mouthfeel with a slightly light body, roasted sweet chocolate malty finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Four Chimneys on 26 Mar 2025 at 07:31 - Score: 6. A dark brown colour with a small thin beige head. Aroma is lightly roasted malt, chocolaty with some fruit and roasted nuts. Moderately sweet, chocolaty, nutty and roasted bitter flavours. Smooth with a lingering bitterness in the finish.

Cask (gravity) @ 31th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2014, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England. [ As Sambrooks Four Chimneys Chocolate Stout ].Clear dark red brown color with a average, frothy and open, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white - silver head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, nutty, chestnuts, light chocolate. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, malt bitter, roasted bitter, malt sweet, chestnuts, light chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm. Dark brown. Chocolate, caramel and hay up front. Mid dry with medium body and firm, well rounded mouthfeel. Toast, chocolate pudding and hay. Mid bitter finish. Edgeless and quite rich.

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm, 11 Dec 2015) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of chocolate, dried fruit and caramel. Malty, slightly roasted taste with chocolate, coffee, caramel and a fairly sweet finish with a balanced roasty bitterness. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Nice one.

Cask at the Hare and Billet, Blackheath. Dark brown pour with a light beige head. Vanilla, chicory, cocoa and chocolate aroma. Flavours of chocolate, raisin with a light coffee presence. Sweet, malty finish. Not bad.
