Westerwald-Bräu is a further beer speciality of the Westerwald-Brewery. A type of beer from the earlier period of promoterism, as it was drunken in this region before the turn of century. Smooth and powerful.

Deep gold with a frothy white head. Aroma of mixed cereals and herbs. Taste is mildly sweet with a dry and light herbal bitterness at the end. Medium body, mild carbonation. A decent Dortmunder .. but still a Dortmunder.

0,33 l bottle from Dehlwisch, Lohne/Oldb. Pours out clear dark, lively carbonation, one finger white frothy head. Smells low grassy. Tastes also grassy at the start, low malty, low bitterness. Metallic hints. Easy drinking standard Helles. Not bad but also nothing special.

The beer is nice and hoppy, floral, nice intense, slightly sweetish. Nice bitter, fresh, smooth, intense bitter, not too floral. But for a Pils this is great! Bitter and fresh with a nice sweetish-malty body!
