Milds are one of the original session beers, and this modernized offering clocks in at a whopping 3.3% ABV! The malt bill of this beer is only Maris Otter and Black malt. Notes of rustic bread crust are balanced against Target, Perle, and HBC 344 hops. Finishing surprisingly dry, Mild Smiles is served nitrogenated for extra smooth optics and mouth coating satisfaction.

On tap at CHoP. Aroma is malt forward with really nice toasted bread notes with lighter notes of caramel, toffee and nuts with hints of chocolate and roast. Hints of herbal, woody hops and alcohol. Pours somewhat dark brown with ruby hues on the edges and a large, thick, creamy, slightly tan head that recedes very slowly to a small creamy head that persists. High amounts of lacing and faint legs. Flavor has a medium light sweetness with moderately strong malt notes of toasted bread, caramel and toffee with hints of nuts, chocolate and roast. Medium low bitterness and faint alcohol notes. Light herbal, woody hop notes. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium low carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a solid mild. The nitro tap works well with the beer and adds a nice depth to the mouthfeel despite being such a small beer. Great malt character; a very enjoyable low abv beer.
