33cl Bottle from Plovmand, thanks for this gem Thomas! Black colour, brown head. Aroma of lots of roasted malts, liquorice, laurel, almost minty, some fruity hops, soy sauce, burnt sugar, dark chocolate, molasses. Flavour is sweet, roasted malts, liquorice and laurel, sticky, burnt sugar, soy sauce, dark chocolate, hops might have faded a bit but still noticeable, some citrus, light fruity, firm bitter finish. Full bodied, just a tad more carbonation than I like in these kind of beers, creamy. Very good. Danish Imperial Stouts are my favourites.

23/IX/16 - 37.5cl bottle @ Borefts Bier Festival - BB: 1/I/20 (2016-1032) Thanks to the Danish ticker table for sharing the bottle!

Pitch black beer, creamy beige head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: roasted, some coffee, charcoal, cocoa powder. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: bit sweet, overripe fruits, something off, whisky notes or just plain alcohol, some chocolate. Aftertaste: pretty hoppy, roasted, charcoal, bitter, some green banana. Not really a fan of this stuff.

Bottle. It’s an almost black one, topped by a dense, finger-thick light tan colored head. Some lacing. The aroma is rather piney and resiny, with lots of licorice and dark chocolate. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, bonfire hints and lots of piney, resiny hops in the flavor. Bitterness. It’s full-bodied, smooth and surprisingly low on alcohol in the mouth. Lasting bitter and dark malty finish with resins and citrus peel keeping the dark chocolate and roasted malts company. Sure a fine brew. 151114

Draught @ Brewdog Helsinki. Aroma has licorice, some hops and soy sauce. Flavour has salty licorice, hops, some ash and mild herbal tones. Alcohol is present but does not disturb. Too salty for my taste.

(Keg at BrewDog Helsinki, 20150919) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, chocolate, liquorice and coffee. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were liquorice, dark chocolate, burnt malts, sweetness, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste had liquorice, burntness and bitterness. A well done imperial stout that hides its high ABV very well.
