Flagship Ale. A classic, Best Bitter; copper-colored, medium bodied with complex malt flavor. Slightly on the hoppy side with English hops at the forefront and backed up with a little Cascade finesse. A well balanced, copper colored ale brewed with British Crystal malts and First Gold hops.

16oz can from Tavour. Cloudy amber pour, initial foamy off-white head settles out. Caramel, malty aroma with some fruity notes. Taste brings out more of the malt, leather, tobacco, toffee with some light sweetness. Smooth.

Can from Tavour. Pours bright copper/amber with a vanishing head. Flavor is toffee with fruity/earthy hop. Med body. Lightly toffee/malty with a significant amount of hop - including some light spice. Orange/apricot seem present. Malt's the thing tho.

Hazy amber, small beige head. Light pleasant malt nose. Malt fore, bready and earthy balanced mid with long strong hop bitterness, too bitter for style

Bottle - served cool not cold - lightly hazy copper - nicely executed rendition - Medium to low carbonation - light dry mineral up front, followed by bready, earthy malt that leads up to a dry, moderately bitter finish with the faintest touches of wood and citrus - full-flavored session ale. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Bitter on 10 Jan 2015 at 14:54 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 6. Original review text: Cask at the brewery - nose of doughy malt, earthy british yeast, citric american hops - flavor is kind of sweet, minimal.yeast character, moderate mineral - finish is all american hoppiness - I was hoping for authenticity, but this is still decent, I suppose.

Light copper with white head. Light pleasant aroma. Starts out really hoppy then turns into a well balanced bitter. All over the tongue finish --- Beer aliased from original tick of Bitter on 05 Jun 2017 at 09:58 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7. Original review text: Cask conditioned draught. Good balance of aroma, some light bread and grass. Light enough to be a session beer with enough flavour. Lekker with fish and chips.

Cask at the brewery. Sort of a warm maltiness, light bitterness, has a nice juicy finish. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Bitter on 16 Jan 2018 at 21:18 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6. Original review text: Bit hazy, amber, thin head. Earthy, but also a fair bit of caramel. Drinks easy, moderate bitterness, caramel...sort of a generic English bitter character, though...novel for Seattle Iβm sure but a bit dated.

Bottle. Pours a clear copper with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a crisp bread with straw and hay notes supporting. Flavor has earthy grains and bread with a good amount of hay supporting.

On cask at Machine House, pours a clear dark copper with a small white head. Aroma is true to style, with English hops, cardboard, and herbal notes. Flavour is identical, with herbal English hops, some cardboard and cereal malt. Not overly interesting, but well-balanced and drinkable. Decent bitter.
