Black, lasting tan head. Vanilla nose, hints of fruit. Slightly boozy, vanilla, wood and light roast. Not bad but too woody as it warms.

Lata. Dark brown. Thin head. Toasty aroma, light vanilla, and some fruitiness. Mellow dark sugars. Thin for style...well for the style as it's understood in 2023. Burnt sugars, light fruitiness. Put it together it doesn't really get me anywhere I need to be. There's potential but if you want English-style burnt sugars, I recommend lower abv and more residuals...like 5% rye, get all chewy, and Fuller's yeast or fruitier. And minerals in the water. Take me back to Cornwall. This beer can get to fuck yeah territory, but details matter.

16oz (thx, Alex!) @ 🏡 Appearance: very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: roasted malt, some grassy notes, a bit of chocolate, a bit smoky, no sweetness. Taste: along the same lines, some woody notes, char, finishes very bitter. Overall: meh.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Black colour, large frothy head. The aroma starts with roasted malts, then roasted nuts, spirit, light vanilla (wood?). Lean body, with light residual sweetness; roasted malt flavour and burnt sugar, caramel, a pinch of ashes, wood, and evident, warming alcohol; roasty finish.
Maybe the pecans and vanilla are not front and center, but this is a bold, very enjoyable Imperial Stout.

473 ml can. Pours a very dark brown with moderate tan head. Aromas of oak, pecans/peanuts, vanilla, and subtle chocolate. Flavors of follow same with emphasis on oak and nuts over malts. OK

473mL can, pours black with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out light toasted oak and medium roasted malt, but not really any notice of the vanilla or pecan. Flavour is sweeter than expected, with lots of vanilla beans, medium roast, and dark sugars. Moderately complex but not the most cohesive. Finishes sweet and roasty. Good.
