On tap at Hopwired, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out toasted malt, a little cocoa and gentle coffee. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of earthy coffee upfront, and a little cocoa. Lots of coffee and cocoa that meshes decently. Alright.

The official 2020 Hopwired collab beer was brewed in September 2019 at Nickel Brook, using coffee from Prototype in Vancouver (one of the best roasters in town). This pours dark brown, with a thin head. It's a touch fruity, with a toasty, roasty balance. I've often found that really high end coffee doesn't do so well in beer because the nuance gets lots, but here it's not lost, just different. The base stout has a surprising amount of body. All in all, quality.
