Draught at CBC, 919/15.
Deep amber with some light cherry hues and a beige head that is rocky, fairly large and well-retained.
Very odd (but not in a bad way) nose shows cotton candy, cherry, vanilla, some odd medicinal/peppery phenols (characteristic of heather) and light touches of honey, marmalade and caramel. Smells pretty good! But you certainly have to like gruits as there’s ALOT of floral notes. No alcohol, no flaws.
Flavor is very heathery, with a heavy earthiness that gets both tart, peppery and then sweet-and-sour. The lower than average attenuation (for CBC, meaning it’s just mid-dry) leaves light sugars to balance and a delicious cherry-vanilla note forms by combination of heather and malt. Soft texture with some oiliness and ample carbonation. The heather does leave a bit of a scratchy, almost stale popcorn-like flavor lingering (lightly) but that’s about the only detractor here.

Draft. An amber beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, Heather, caramel, and straw, leading to a dry finish.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Nikki's Liquor, 6/22/15

Aroma: The aroma is as expected, floral and herbal, with some light bready malt notes
Appearance: It pours an unclear orange color with a small, sheeting off-white head and light lacing
Flavor: Tastes similar, but the floral component is stronger in the flavor than the aroma
Palate: The body is light-medium, it has an average-plus carbonation, and a fairly short duration
Overall Impression: I thought this one was decent. The components that are here all work fine together, but I just didn't hey anything super enjoyable out of the combination. It's fine.

22 oz.bottle, purchased @ CBC. Batch 01, bottled AUG / 12. Deep golden amber color no head at all. Low carbonation. Nose is really herbal and floral. Flavor of herbs, citrus, rosehips, and some light grain. As it gets warm I taste flowers exclusively. It has a tea like quality. Short clean finish. Decent but not something I would get again.

Pours deep mahogany into a tulip. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to coat surface. Spring flower and grass aromas. Soft, yet crisp with sweet honey and toasted caramel front to back. Lasting grass finish. Dry, lasting earthy bitter finish.

A lightly hazed orange amber ale with a very thin white head. In aroma, a nice herbaceous malt with flowery notes, a bit of caramel, and wild grass. In mouth, a smooth sweetush malt, lightly oily, with light nutty notes, herbal, not bad. On tap at brewpub, Sept. 11 2011.
