Cask (gravity) @ 31th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2014, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England [ As Laines Empire Stout ].ABV: 5.0%. Clear dark brown color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, sweet malt, light earthy. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, earthy, malt sweet, chocolate notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. Cask at Pigs Ear 2014 - London. Pours deep red-brown with a creamy off-white head. Moderate roast in the nose, dried dark fruits, earth. Light sweet flavor with roasty malts, mellow cocoa, earth, fruits. Light bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Dry finish with leathery dark fruits, old berries, earth, light roast, impressions of cocoa, ash. Not bad.

Gravity dispense at Pigs Ear ’14, day 3, 04/12/14. Dark mahogany brown with a decent khaki topping. Nose is light roast, toffee, light must, dark fruit whisper. Taste comprises dark malt, charr, dark fruit rinds, hint of cocoa powder. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Adequate.

Cask gravity at the Pig’s ear 2014. Dark mahogany brown medium loose tan head. Aroma is nutty roasted malts, lactose sugar, berry hop. Flavour is nutty toast malts, choc powder, tangy berry, tanin. Lingering berry. Palate is medium light with a low carbonation. A touch watery.
