Cask at The Borough, Lancaster. Pours black with a long lasting creamy tan head. Aroma is heavily roasted and toasted, nutty, malt, and chocolate. Medium sweetness, mellow bitterness. Medium to full bodied, slick texture, soft carbonation. Finish is initially sweet roasted, smooth, and ending with more bitterness.

Cask (gravity) @ 31th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2014, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England [ As Borough (Lancaster) Wintertime Dark ].Clear dark brown color with a small, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, cacao, butterscotch - toffee. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, roasted bitter, chocolate, sweet malt, malt bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. Cask at the borough, Lancaster. Pours clear copper brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of dark sugar, red fruit. Taste is more fruits, light spice. Sweet finish. Nice.

Gravity dispense at Pigs Ear ’14, day 1, 02/12/14. Black with moderate tan spotting and edgework. Nose is dark toffee fudge, spice, light charr, cocoa rub. Taste comprises roast malt, spice, liqourice, dark toffee, chocolate. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close with light roast. Decent enough stout.

Pigs Ear. Cask. Semi opaque dark brown beer, few pale tan bubbles. Palate is light, smooth and semi dry. Not much carbonation. Artificial tasting chocolate malts dominate. Light finish. Okay.
