Solway CAMRA's Beer of the Year

It’s the Maris Otter base combined with crystal malt (traditionally used in dark beers) that gives this brew its distinctive red gold colour and sweet taste. The hops follow on to build on the flavour and present you with a beautiful balanced finish. Spun Gold has just been awarded Beer of the Year by our local CAMRA branch.

Bottle from Local in Carlisle. Appearance - amber with a decent head. Nose - light apple and citrus. Taste - light biscuit and more citrus. But a bit of honey at the end. This makes it less refreshing. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a finish that could be fresher. Overall - solid but not worth a second.
