Jewels Perry is made using a mixture of traditional perry pears grown in Herefordshire. Our supplier’s trees are ancient; some perhaps 150 years old. They grow in grass meadows giving lovely low nutrient fruit the juice of which ferments slowly to make a fine perry.

Cask (gravity) @ The 16th Reading Beer and Cider Festival 2010, Reading, Berkshire England.

Light unclear light light yellow color with virtually none head. Aroma is light to moderate pear, sweet pear, sour - tart pear, sharp pear. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and acidic with a long duration, dry, light sharp, lovely. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. [20100430]

Polycask at The Chequers, Little Gransden, Cambs’ 24.09.10 Hughie had informed me that this was on. Pours lemon yellow with a little haze. Aroma was strange it was one part sharp pear to another part old peoples homes, and believe me I’ve been in enough old peoples establishments over the years so can be quite confident of getting that right. Touch sharp in the mouth and whilst not great far better than the aroma suggested, different. A4 A4 T7 P3 Ov12 3.0

Bag in a box gravity at Reading BF 2010. Haze silver yellow. Farty perry aroma. Really sharp in mouth. Hmmm, lovely perry, good sharpness. Some tannin on end, some sweetness. Yummy
